How to Spot Counterfeit Products
Cosmedica Skincare was born in our home in Northern California in 2012. We started this business as a husband and wife team (actually we were still dating at the time… and glad running a business together didn’t break us up!) and it’s grown into a company with 20+ employees and a full manufacturing facility. We’re proud of where we’ve come from and how we’ve grown.
They say imitation is the biggest form of flattery but this isn't the case when it comes to skincare! And we want to inform you, our loyal customers, about what is out there in the skincare universe.
Everyone loves a good bargain, and searching for the best deal is something we all do (ourselves included!). But when something is passed off as another brand’s product, the result is inferior quality, questionable ingredients, and products that haven’t been tested for efficacy or safety. We don’t want you to have to experience any of this.
Does Cosmedica sell their products on Amazon?
Yes! And first things first: we LOVE Amazon. It’s the first place we started selling our Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum and selling on Amazon helped grow our business to where it is today.
We have our own store on Amazon and we’re happy to be one of the top sellers of Hyaluronic Acid across their entire platform.
Who is authorized to sell Cosmedica products on Amazon?
We are very mindful of which third parties can sell our products on Amazon.
Currently, the ONLY authorized sellers are:
- Ourselves (look for “by COSMEDICA” or “by Cosmedica Skincare” underneath the product)
- The Beauty Box
If you see another seller selling Cosmedica products, they (and the product) are not authorized to sell on Amazon.
Old Packaging vs. New Packaging
Awhile ago, we invested in a makeover for our packaging. We kept the same great and effective formulas, but wanted to update our look.
This is what our old packaging looks like:
If you see these packages being sold by Cosmedica, Cosmedica Skincare, or The Beauty Box, know that they’re 100% approved, effective, and ready to use.
If another seller is selling products that look like this, they are counterfeit and NOT approved to be sold.
How to spot a fake
1. Look for the logo
Counterfeit sellers have been tweaking our logo, or using parts of our logo to try and look like us. Imitation is NOT the best form of flattery in this case.
This is our logo:
Isn’t she cute? Look for the entire logo to be present on the product.
2. Shop through Authorized Sellers ONLY on Amazon
Remember, we only have two authorized sellers (Cosmedica Skincare and The Beauty Box). Anyone else selling products that look like ours is NOT us. We cannot vouch for the quality, efficacy, or consistency and don’t want you to have a negative experience.
Why should you care?
As I mentioned above, we’re a small, family-run business that loves our products and what we do. We have worked hard to be here and we love your loyalty and support. When other companies try and pass their inferior products off as Cosmedica Skincare, it ultimately hurts you. Even if a product is being sold for a few dollars less, it really isn’t worth it if the ingredients don’t work, or worse, cause a terrible reaction.
We work hard to treat our employees with respect, NEVER test on animals, to source the best ingredients possible, and with the least impact to the environment. Counterfeit companies don’t make those promises. At the end of the day, these inferior products do more than take business away from us, they hurt the planet, a fair labor market, and you, as a consumer.
We appreciate your support and please reach out directly if you feel you’ve found a counterfeit Cosmedica product to the email address below.
Thank you,
Lucia

I bought what I thought was your product on wish. I know your serum is more “watery” than some, but this stuff is just not your serum. No expiration date, no packaging. Just bottles with your logo. I got it for free. Just paid shipping. Stay away from wish for skincare!

It is selling for no cost just shipping.
Hi, I purchased the hyaluronic acid on Amazon and what I got isn’t a serum. It’s as this as water it’s not thick at all. I did shake it and still nothing. What can be done about this? I’m stationed in Japan so it’s not easy to do a return .
Thanks
